Additional Information

I am pleased to present the bootleg of the original soundtrack of the movie "Orgasmo", directed by Umberto Lenzi, a true classic giallo with wonderful music composed and arranged by maestro Piero Umiliani. This soundtrack was never full edited, just was released a CAM single, with a alternate version of the main title "Fate Had Planned It So" (although not the same as the one on the film). Therefore, it's the first time we can hear the soundtrack complete, thanks to this bootleg done by Javier Di Granti, extracting the music directly from the same movie. Unfortunately, we have no access to the master tapes of the original recordings, but we are convinced that sooner or later will come to light.

A glamorous American widow, arrives in Italy several weeks after the death of her older, extremely wealthy husband. With the help of Brian, her lawyer, Kathryn moves into a luxurious villa and proceeds to lead a lonely, uneventful existence until one day, a handsome young man named Peter Donovan shows up at the front gate, looking for tools so he can fix his sports car. Kathryn lets him stay the night, and the next thing she knows, she's madly making love to him in the shower. Peter eventually moves in, and is soon joined by a free spirit he introduces as Eva, his sister. Kathryn enjoys their company and partying with them - until she begins to suspect that Peter and Eva aren't what they seem to be.

"Orgasmo" is considered the first of the giallo trilogy from Umberto Lenzi and many, consider his best contribution to the genre, with a vibrant thriller, tense, anxious, sensual and with an apotheosic ending. The soundtrack helps in part to achieve this. In fact, we consider this soundtrack one of the best from Mº Umiliani and we do not understand why this isn't released yet.

The main theme of the film is titled "Fate Planned Had It So" with voice of the unmistakable and brilliant Lydia MacDonald, which gives the film a perfect blend of a mystery and romance. The movie is based on the melody with multiple variants: from bossa nova to lounge, jazz, swing, shakes, mystery... we have also included the single version, obscure released by CAM, which contains a slightly different version of the main title but better quality sounding. Also, we also include the song "Just Tell Me" featuring the Italian soul-based band Wess & The Airedales, with a soul-beat composition from Umiliani and Fawkles which was also included on the film "Paranoia" from 1970.

So, I hope you enjoy these cuts, and pardon me if it sounds some short dialogues or sound effects on some of them, you understand, we have done everything possible to avoid them but sometimes it is impossible to eliminate because they are over the music. That said, the final result is plenty satisfactory considering the scarce resources and we can at least alleviate the wait until some label will release this gem out.
